KPMG Canada Continues Digital Asset Investments With First NFT Purchase

KPMG Canada purchased its first NFT from World of Women (WoW), shortly after adding Bitcoins and Ethereum to their balance sheet.

First Digital Currencies, Now NFTs

KPMG Canada, a Canadian tax auditing and advisory services company, is KPMG Canada. The WoW NFT purchase marks the company’s first venture into digital assets. NFT has been embraced by major companies and businesses. This company previously invested in Bitcoin and Ethereum. It seemed like the natural next step to venture into NFTs.

Step up to the next stage of crypto investment

Non-fungible tokens, also known as NFTs, are digital tokens that can be directly linked to real-world or digital assets like artworks, audio files, video clips, graphic art, documents, and so on. Tokens can be purchased with cryptocurrency by crypto users. They give them ownership of the asset to which they are uniquely connected. This ownership is recorded on the blockchain and can be redeemed at any time. All subsequent sales of NFTs will be also recorded on the blockchain.

Benjie Thomas (Managing Partner, KMPG Canada’s Advisory Services) addressed the NFT purchase.

NFTs provide a channel that allows organizations to communicate with customers and underpin innovation by digitizing assets. This acquisition is a reflection of our belief in WoW’s mission and continued growth in NFTs. We are now able to assist our clients in building a corporate NFT strategy. This includes acquiring and protecting NFTs.

KMPG Chooses WoW NFTs

The World of Women community promotes equal opportunities for women artists on the Web3 and aims to increase representation. This organization is empowering more women artists to explore NFT and crypto opportunities. It also supports environmental causes and global women’s issues through several charitable initiatives. The WoW collection is highly collectible, with 10,000 NFTs in the first edition featuring inspirational and diverse women.

Nancy Chase, KPMG’s National Risk Consulting Leader and Partner, spoke out about the value of the WoW collection. She also addressed the issue of women in crypto. She stated,

“All accounts show that women are underrepresented in crypto. This makes it a proud moment to acquire our first NFT collection in support of women. We hope our purchase will attract more women to a sector that is poised for a revolution in how we interact with each other in the future.
